Last week my boss sheepishly came to me and tried to remind me of a conversation that we didn't have several months ago about my salary being reduced effective 1/1/09.
I have notes from our meeting and I'm pretty sure I would have remembered her telling me about a 20% reduction in base pay. HR caught her and told her that she needed to get my signature, which is why she got caught in a trap.
I politely responded to her in an email (cc'ing HR) that she did not make mention of this during our meeting dated X/X/08 from which I have notes. She responded to me that she did indeed mention it to me. Now we have a she said, she said situation because HR was not present.
Today she is on vacation, but called me and left a message saying that she'd left the document that I need to sign acknowledging the pay decrease on her desk.
I find this offensive and chicken. Why she couldn't talk with me herself is troublesome and pretty much spells out my future with the company, I guess.
But still I would like justice. Is there anything I can do?
